Words (formerly known as Words Between The Lines Of Age) is a formerly unidentified funk rock/new wave cover of Words (Between The Lines Of Age) by Neil Young by New Jersey-based musician Bob Mozart, recorded around 1992.

2010s
The song was first posted to the New Wave Outpost forums by user Guglielm on August 23rd, 2012 along with multiple other unknown songs. He didn’t provide any information about the songs.
On April 13th, 2013, Guglielm commented on a WFMU.org page for a playlist made by radio DJ Terre T. He said all of the songs were recorded off of WFMU "ages ago".[1]
A week later, Guglielm commented on a WFMU playlist made by DJ Bob Brainen, specifying that the songs were recorded 20-30 years prior, specifically between 1981-1984 or 1991-1993, off of WFMU.[2]
Guglielm reposted the song to WatZatSong on July 16th, 2013, not providing any additional information about it, other than it being a cover of Words Between the Lines of Age by Neil Young.
On August 6th, 2014, Guglielm reposted the song to WatZatSong again. He said it was tagged as Opposable Thumb Ft. John Schnall and Bob Mozart, but he couldn’t find anything about them online.
2020s
Eventually, a band called Opposable Thumb was discovered, and it had a band member named John Schnall, but there was very little information about them online.
On March 26th, 2023, Guglielm confirmed that he digitized all of his cassette tapes with the songs on them in the early 1990s, and no longer had any of them anymore.[3]
On June 25th, 2024, John Schnall was contacted by Discord user PersonOfDistraction and said Opposable Thumb didn’t make it, and it was a solo project by Bob Mozart[4]. Bob Mozart was contacted too and confirmed it was him, but said he didn’t have the mastertape. But due to lack of HQ audio, it was only considered nearly solved.
On September 27th, 2024, the song was considered fully solved in the lostwave community after Memorybank’s songs were solved due to “overwhelming evidence”. Since that song was considered solved, this song and Edge Of A Dream, another song that was in verification needed due to lack of HQ audio were considered solved.
