Not to be confused with Woman (Eric Kupper's Fierce Club Mix).

Woman (formerly known as "I'm Here") is a formerly unidentified song by Billy London & Andy Clark, released in 1981.

Search History[]

On June 10th, 2023, user Kenny Cathead posted a one hour and 25 minute video titled “Unknown” to YouTube. It featured many snippets recorded off of the radio in the 1980s. The song played 34 minutes and three seconds into the video.

Kenny reposted the 12 second snippet to his WatZatSong account NY80sTapes on a week later. The song was recorded off of a radio station in New York or New Jersey in the 1980s.

On November 24th, 2023, on the FMM Discord thread for the songs he posted, Kenny said that he wasn’t the person who recorded the tapes, but instead a friend who was trying to make a sound collage, but he recorded a few things.

On March 16th, 2024, a WatZatSong user discovered a longer sample post by user muds. They also provided the whole song through Google Drive. Muds’ post read:

"I recorded this song in a cassette about 1982-85 I suppose, it seems Lou Reed voice and style but Shazam and Soundhound didn't recognize the song, anyone knows it?"

On June 12th 2024, the song was identified by user LoneWolfAtak as "Woman" by Billy London and Andy Clark, live in 1981, presumably after searching for Woman as a possible title.

Lyrics[]

[Intro]
I'm here if you want me here
I'm here if you need me
I'm here if you want me here
I'm here if you need me

[Verse 1]
When I look into your big brown eyes
Then I know that I'm in paradise
Baby, when you got your arms around me
I feel our love going down in history
'Cause you're a woman
'Cause you're a woman

[Chorus]
Woman, I need your love
Woman, I need your love

[Verse 2]
The prince of Denmark would take no jive
They say he was the saddest man alive
He saw a ghost upon the parapеt
Crying for the love he just couldn't gеt
From his woman
From his woman

[Chorus]
Woman, I need your love
Woman, I need your love

[Verse 3]
I wanna see you when the sun goes down
And there is nobody else around
Baby, baby, when I kiss your lips
I get a thrill down to my fingertips
'Cause you're a woman
'Cause you're a woman

[Chorus]
Woman, I need your love
Woman, I need your love
Woman, I need your love
Woman, I need your love
Woman, I need your love
I said, woman, I need your love
