The song was first posted to YouTube on November 1st, 2011 by user Nakkiel7. It was sent to them tagged as "Wait Forever" by a band called In Tensions, but there’s no proof of this band's existence. The OP didn’t provide any information about where the song came from. The song samples Das Model by Kraftwerk.
On February 23rd, 2012, a slightly lower quality version of the song was uploaded to YouTube by user Scientronik also under the name In Tension - Wait Forever. It’s possible they found the song in same source as Nakkiel, but it’s likely they just took the audio from their upload.
In 2017, user DieSternenguckerin claimed they had a mixtape with the song in it that was given to them by a friend around 2002. They said they asked the friend and he said he got the tape in the early 1990s, and that he didn’t have contact with the person who made the tape.
In 2022, user Stanley Dykes commented on the second upload, and said the song originated in a German song compilation/mixtape. He linked a YouTube video which apparently had more information about the song in the comments, but the video has since been deleted.
In late 2023 (possibly around October), the OP was asked where they got the song from. They replied, saying the song was sent to them on filesharing site Soulseek in a community called Guerrero Fronde that shared rare, lesser known, and unidentified 1980s music.
Leads & theories
In March of 2024, a user said it was "Act so Different", by a Belgian group called Bad Intentions. However, similarly to the first claim, no proof has been given and there’s no evidence of this group’s existence. But as of over a year after they commented, they still haven’t given proof.
