Valentine Kiss is a vaporwave remix of a live version of Valentine Kiss performed by Onyanko Club (おニャン子クラブ), edited by the Norwegian artist Fauux. The song used to have been able to be heard on an experimental website called "Wired Sound from Wired People" but it is likely somehow taken down nowadays. The source of the live version is currently not discovered.
The song was first posted onto Reddit as a 4-second snippet, being known as the placeholder name Wired Sound for Wired People.
Search History[]
On October of 2023, a now-deleted Reddit user posted the snippet on r/Lostwave, asking what song is recorded on the audio they had. The OP stated they asked their friend where the snippet came from, and the friend likely claimed to get it from an website called "Wired Sound from Wired People".[1] The OP also guessed it originally recorded from an unknown mall or a bowling valley.
On October 2nd, 2024, jcorsen uploaded the snippet to his channel along with a "wired" image. In his upload, he stated that he thought it is probably a known song he just didn't know. Coincidentally or not, he also attached a captured image from the page which is marked as the song's origin.
On May of 2025, user Pyrite provided the link to the full song of the snippet, under the comment of jcorsen's upload.
On May 13th, 2025, it was confirmed by Fauux theirselves that they made the remix. Fauux also stated the sample used to be available on YouTube but it's likely taken down now:
"It's about the Valentine Kiss song. I saw you wrote about this song, which I edited many years ago for my neocities site (fauux). The song comes from an old J-pop group called Onyanko Club, I think they had a TV-show in the 80s? I found the original song on Youtube, the original video is probably taken down, as I feel a lot of TV-recordings from Japan is taken down quite often. But I looked in my own videos uploaded over the years, and I found this from 2015: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OAzGUHuKekI
I was messing around with data-corruption or morphing, whatever it's called. I intentionally corrupted the video in Audacity, the audio is a little messed up as a result too. This is probably the same video I used to get that original audio from. Hope this helps :)"
Leads and Theories[]
User hookedrago stated that it maybe sampled Valentine Kiss by Sayuri Kokokusho (小国生さゆり), and it was later confirmed to be correct as it's being a remix of Valentine Kiss.
Shave Impact, who posted the full audio to their YouTube channel on April 4th, 2020, stated they couldn't find the remix anywhere on the Internet so assumed Fauux himself made it. Their assumption is likely correct since it was formerly played on "Wired Sound from Wired People" and the founder of the site is also being Fauux. The assumption is later confirmed as well.
Another user on jcorsen's upload seems to have heard the noise at the beginning of the snippet as the beep from a printer while printing. [2] Other some users guess the audio came from the 2000s.
About the lost sample source, Fauux stated he used a live version by Onyanko Club of 1987, when the group has disbanded. At the end of the audio they state at the show that it will be their last live performance together.
