Too Young To Die is a new wave song that is currently in verification needed. It is probably a 1977-1978 song by Cross Connection (also known as Innocent Heroes), titled "Songs And Lovers".

Search History[]

The song was posted to YouTube on June 23rd, 2020, by user Acidbeats9, along with another song titled American Daydream. The video's description read:

One of 2 amazing song taken from a decaying cassette of an UNKNOWN Leeds band from around 1984 - 1986 ?

I have no idea the name of the band. This was the demo they were taking around record company's and was recorded cassette to cassette loads of times as we all shared it back in the day.

I think one of them was a teacher & at one point they were touted by Flock of Seagulls as they really liked them.

Vaguely remember been told that they were told that the songs were not good enough ! insane. Enjoy this brilliant song and the other track "American Daydream". Maybe one day....

Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as Ofrix, AlianTheObscure, SpikeytheCactus, 𝑀𝑟. 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑝𝑠, and multiple others, amassing over 450 views.

On June 14th, 2025, user Barrie Foster commented on the upload of American Daydream, and claimed the band behind this song was Cross Connection, who later renamed to Innocent Heroes. They also claimed the song was written 1977-1978, and that this band was indeed from Leeds, United Kingdom.[1]

Nobody really noticed the comment until September 28th, 2025, when Discord user TonyCheekz posted the comment in the Lostwavetwt central server. he said he doubted that it was true and he was too "busy" to look for proof.[2]

This was quickly followed by Discord user Hinoyt who found a MySpace page for Innocent Heroes. The title "American Daydream" was listed[3], and so was a title that closely matched the lyrics of this song, "Songs And Lovers".[4].

On October 31st, 2025, Barrie responded to a reply by user user-g (techno161). He didn’t have any of the band's music anymore, but he'd contact the band's singer in Facebook, as he'd likely have HQ audio.[5]

Supposed Lyrics (partial)[]

Too fast to lighten with through the tracks
Too much alcohol too many drags
Too much too many to take offence
Do what you do to make them dance (?)
(?)
(?)
Put through the night, we're living in (?)
Life's too jolly but we just give in
And the lights come out
And it seems hopeless to try
(?)
(?)
But there's no need for tears, no need to cry
The song's to the lovers, we're all too young to die (we're all too young to die)
The song's to the lovers, we're all too young to die
Too scared too much of losing you
All time any time thinking of you
No one else only you and me
I want a one with you always with me
(?)
We'll play through the night (?)
But the lights come out
And it seems hopeless to try
(?)
(?)
But there's no need for tears, no need to cry
The song's to the lovers, we're all too young to die (we're all too young to die)
The song's to the lovers, we're all too young to die

Too fast, too loud, too much, too many, too every, too running, too much alcohol
Too fast, too loud, too much, too many, too every, too running, too much alcohol
Too fast, too loud, too much, too many, too every, too running, too much alcohol
Too fast, too loud, too much, too many, too every, too running, too much alcohol

But the lights come out
And it seems hopeless to try
(?)
(?)
But there's no need for tears, no need to cry
The song's to the lovers, we're all too young to die (we're all too young to die)
The song's to the lovers, we're all too young to die (we're all too young to die)
The song's to the lovers, we're all too young to die
