The song was first posted to the New Wave Outpost forums by user Guglielm on August 23rd, 2012, along with multiple other unknown songs. He didn’t provide any information about the songs.
On April 13th, 2013, Guglielm commented on a WFMU.org page for a playlist made by radio DJ Terre T. He said all of the songs were recorded off of WFMU "ages ago".[1]
A week later, Guglielm commented on a WFMU playlist made by DJ Bob Brainen, specifying that the songs were recorded 20-30 years prior, specifically between 1981-1984 or 1991-1993, off of WFMU.[2]
Guglielm reposted to song to WatZatSong on August 3rd, 2013. It was most likely recorded from 1991-1993, but it could’ve been released in the late 1980s. The song was most likely released on vinyl due to audible crackling.
2020s
On March 26th, 2023, Guglielm confirmed that he digitized all of his cassette tapes with the songs on them in the early 1990s, and no longer had any of them anymore.[3]
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as JayKay, Swiðr, Q, MistaEgg, VisualConfusion, Creamwolf, S2h, SpikeytheCactus, jcorsen, LostwaveFinder, Rocketballboi, and multiple others, amassing over 20k views.
On March 3rd, 2024, a channel for the song was created in the Fond My Mind Discord server after winning a channel poll, along with Fly Away, The Things We Never Do, Uptown People, Just Make It Louder, Somewhere In The Night, Rubia, Red Light, Jenny, and Take Us To Dreamland.
The channel was originally in the "Other Unknown Songs (1)" category, but was promoted to the "Main Unknowns" category on September 15th, 2025 due to other unidentified song My Pretty Doll being demoted, being demoted due to later-proven hoax suspicions.
