On November 8, 2021, WatZatSong user kdrdlord posted a snippet to the site, saying: "not full, 1 minute length. probably called "this is the riff"".
On July 15th, 2024, YouTube user Mike Worst reuploaded the song snippet to his channel, saying in the description: "OP apparently has a 1-minute version of the song, but has not uploaded it".
On November 19th, 2024, WatZatSong user Numerophobe identified the song as "The Ritz" by the band NZPop.
