Telepresence (formerly known as Presence) is a formerly unidentified experimental electro song by Californian duo Audioafterbirth (Laurie and Paul Makela) released in 1992 on the album Commbine.

The song was first posted to the New Wave Outpost forums by user Guglielm on August 23rd, 2012 along with multiple other unknown songs. He didn’t provide any information about the songs.
On April 13th, 2013, Guglielm commented on a WFMU.org page for a playlist made by radio DJ Terre T. He said all of the songs were recorded off of WFMU "ages ago".[1]
A week later, Guglielm commented on a WFMU playlist made by DJ Bob Brainen, specifying that the songs were recorded 20-30 years prior, specifically between 1981-1984 or 1991-1993, off of WFMU.[2]
Guglielm reposted the song to WatZatSong on March 6th, 2014, but he didn’t provide any additional information about the song, only saying “No clue whatsoever”.
On September 3rd, 2022, user Nonoseacrest theorized that the title was Telepresence, and it was a recent song. But Guglielm confirmed it was recorded sometime in the 1990s.
A day later, the song was identified by Discord users BloostMedia and Kurty as Telepresence by Audioafterbirth, after Bloost brought it up after searching for songs titled Telepresence[3], and Kurty found full audio.[4]

Audioafterbirth was an electro and alternative rock duo from San Francisco, California. The duo was Laurie Haycock Makela and Paul Scott Makela.
In 1992, their songs Waiting With Baudrillard and The Picture Upright were featured on the compilation album Emigre Music Sampler No. 1.
In 1992, they released their first album Commbine, which included this song.
In 1993, their song Science Or Heaven was featured in the compilation album Emigre Music Sampler No. 2.
In 1997, they released their second and final album, Addictions + Meditations.
On May 7th, 1999, Paul passed away due to Epiglottitis.
