Take Me (formerly known as Bank Of The River) is a formerly unidentified new wave song by Californian musician Tony Tucker, released as a single in 2013.

Search History[]

The song was first posted to WatZatSong on July 30th, 2017, by user Damaneg. He didn’t provide any information about where the song came from, only asking “please help me who are these song?”, and the snippet was instrumental.

Later that day, the OP posted another snippet of the song, including lyrics, but he still didn’t provide any information about where the song came from, and he also asked the same thing, and he didn’t provide a longer snippet, both times.

User Mike Worst reposted the song to YouTube on August 28th, 2022, and he discovered in the metadata that Gor Ohanjanyan was put as a contributing artist, but they’re most likely the OP as there’s a YouTube account under both names.

On June 12th, 2024, it was discovered by user Mystic65 that damaneg had actually posted the song five days before on the IXBT forum and that he posted to song to YouTube, but the video was deleted, and the OP is unable to be contacted.

On July 6th, 2025, the song was identified by the YouTube copyright system as Take Me by Tony Tucker, due to Tony uploading the song to streaming websites a week prior.

Lyrics[]

[Verse 1]
Well, they found her yesterday on the bank of the river
Lying face down, they said it's been a couple of days
Just the thought of what must have happened there makes me shiver
Nobody won't listen, I was two hundred miles away

[Verse 2]
I don't understand how someone could be so malice
What they've taken from me I never can replace
Well, she was my world, my little house was her palace
Nobody won't listen, and I won't run away

[Chorus]
So come on and take me, I got nothing left to live for
I'm in a one-room shack, floating way back in the black water
And what they say about me hurts more than they will ever know
So come on and take me, come on and take me
I've gone far as any man can go

[Interlude]
Control 1, this is Unit 3 Delta, we're going in
That's a copy, Delta. Be careful

[Verse 3]
Well, there's hundreds of miles of swamp water here to travel
And there's nothing but nothing, far as the eye can see
What they put on me was more than any man can handle
And you'll be the man with blood on his hands if you're coming in to take me

[Chorus]
So come on and take me, I have nothing to live for
I'm in a one-room shack, I got nothing to live for
Come on and take me, I've gone far as I can go
Come on and take me
