Not to be confused with unidentified song Cold Stock, and formerly identified songs Cold Skin & Cool Strut.

Swinging Lead (formerly known as "Cold Breeze") is a formerly unidentified alternative rock song by the Wigan based band The Suzukis, released in 2010.

Search History[]

The song was posted to WatZatSong on September 14th, 2017, by user Shedrock. Like most of their posts, no information was provided about the song, and they went inactive before they posted a longer snippet, but the song was likely recorded off of a British radio station, due to the abrupt start and the OP being British.

Around 2022, after the OP’s songs gained more attention due to then being reuploaded to YouTube, multiple users theorized that the song came from Myspace and was lost in the MySpace data loss. This was due to their other songs being by Myspace bands. The metadata said it was from 2009.

Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as No Background, AlianTheObscure, S2h, Q, and multiple others, amassing over 1k views.

On November 15th, 2025, the song was identified by users Girlwantsboy and Hinoyt as "Swinging Lead" by The Suzukis. Girlwantsboy first found The Suzukis under the similar artists page of anotheraznpianokid on last.fm, which had several other Shedrock artists, and thought they sounded similar after listening to a song from them.

After posting his findings to several people, Hinoyt found a low-quality live performance the song after looking through their Top Tracks of all time page on last.fm.

Only the low-quality live performance of the song has been found so far, but the lead singer, Chris Veasey, was contacted by Discord user Basketry for a high-quality version. Chris got back to her two days later and said he no longer had a copy of the song. Other band members are currently being looked into.

Lyrics[]

Carry your back to the 3-D flat
And pick up my big face from the big door mat
Well I’ve been told by a man in the know that I’m living slow
I don’t know about that

I just like the look of the ceiling
And the TV cools my mind
Like a cold breeze coming over me
And freezing (???)
