Sunfish (マンボウ, Manbô) is a Japanese indie song attributed to the mysterious band Kon-Nichi No Sui-Sangyo (今日の水産業, English: Today's Fisheries), who are considered to be a Indie student band.
History[]
On July 31st, 2008, the song was first posted on Nicovideo by Japanese user Ｒｅみぃぃむ, asking about the band. The OP stated they got it from a CD that they bought in a certain second-hand store as "junk". The CD was a compilation of various indie band songs, labelled as Maruyaki (丸焼き), and it attributed the song to Kon-Nichi No Sui-Sangyo.
A user claimed Maruyaki was being sold online, and another user found that Kon-Nichi No Sui-Sangyo could be a student band. The CD was discovered on several Japanese online-store sites, such as Mercari, however, there is no further information of Kon-Nichi No Sui-Sangyo written on the sales pages.
The latter theory has still yet to be confirmed. However, a Google image search reveals that the image leads to the homepage of a Japanese international high school [1], so it is likely that Kon-nichi No Sui-sangyo might've been a band consisted of high school students. Though, as the probable page has likely been unavailable.
