It was released as part of the album 702 by LEAN Records, which features Tha Crazy Dread and Pobidan as the vocals. The track surfaced onto YouTube when user Tommybuoy86 uploaded it on June 13th, 2012, asking users to help identify the song.

On May 23rd, 2019, u/mindspace1618 post to r/ukhiphopheads asking for identification. While trying to download songs by The Streets in LimeWire, they accidentally downloaded a different track by an unknown artist.[2]
On December 12th, 2024, Samuel Molina Marin would discover Streetslang on Bandcamp.
