Spirit of Radio is a CFNY-FM fan site where users post unknown songs. This website also hosts other features.
As of late February of 2024, users can no longer post unknown songs and post comments due to off-topic songs and spam comments. As a result, some Spirit of Radio users had to move to WatZatSong. The last post was a repost of Candyman (Love Me Now).
Attempting to comment displays a message saying "I'm tired of moderating the continuous spam being posted here. Deleting 10-20 offensive, pornographic or otherwise unrelated comments every day is not what I am here for. Because you guys can't police yourselves and behave, for now I've disabled the commenting functionality altogether. We'll see if we can come up with a better system in future.".
Attempting to upload a sample to the site displays a message saying "After running this song ID site for 22(!!!) years, I'm finally disabling the ability to add new songs. The amount of spam, garbage, and off-topic songs being uploaded (Polka. Gangsta rap. Bollywood. You name it, it's been uploaded) has exceeded by FAR the amount of relevant, on-topic posts. So after literally decades of policing and deleting this crap off of here, I've finally just shut it down.".
Attempting to access to the forums in a blocked country displays a message saying "Due to excessive spamming from [Country], all access to the forum from your country has been barred. Sorry about that.".
