They had major chart success with hit tracks British Hustle and the very funky Hi Tension. The band split in the early '80's with David Joseph pursuing a solo career.
In 1984 Ken, Leroy and Jeff reformed the band (with other members David Joseph and Paul Phillips on the recording sessions) and released 'Rat Race' in 1984, and 'You Make Me Happy' (originally recorded as 'Happy' by Surface) in 1985. Both versions scored in the Top 40 at the same time. Paul Phillips was first seen as a Record Producer in 1981 with AD 2000 and then DC Allstars and for Record Label Streetsounds.

On October 14th, 2021, A now deleted WatZatSong user would post a sample to the site, saying in the post's description: "sweet funk soul, early 80s". Alongside this they would provide more information about the song when asked by Kurty and MUSIC15, saying: "most definitely NOT a mainstream band. More like a local US band that probably release 2 to 3 different records the most" and "It was from a YouTube video that was taken down since".

Lyrics[]
[Verse 1]
You say you wanna cry
Water falls from your eyes
And you can't understand your feelings
Your heartโ
breaksโ
deep inside
You've lostโ
all sense of pride
Like having someoneโ
on your shoulders.
[Bridge]
The moment you love someone
You can't explain allโyourโfeelings
Soโif you canโuse someone
To liftโyou up, come on baby
Let's try it
Why fight it?
Just give it to me
Look at me. (Oh, I)
[Chorus]
Dim the lights
Baby, let's get eye-to-eye
Just you and me, girl (Oh, I)
Dim the lights
Baby, let's get eye-to-eye
Just you and me, girl. (Oh, I)
[Verse 2]
You're hoping for the day
Real love will come your way
All you have to do is look around you
You just can't run away
You've got to try to stay
And let me lay my lovin' on ya.
[Bridge]
I won't change a thing you do
I'll get you back to believin'
That love can be positive if you just
Come on baby
Let's try it
Why fight it?
Just give it to me
And you will see. (Oh, I)
[Chorus]
Dim the lights
Baby, let's get eye-to-eye
Just you and me, girl (Oh, I)
Dim the lights
Baby, let's get eye-to-eye
Just you and me, girl. (Oh, I)
[Bridge]
The moment you love someone
You can't explain all your feelings
So if you can use someone to lift you up
Come on baby
Let's try it
Why fight it?
Just give it to me
Look at me. (Oh, I)
[Chorus]
Dim the lights
Baby, let's get eye-to-eye
Just you and me, girl (Oh, I)
Dim the lights
Baby, let's get eye-to-eye
Just you and me, girl (Oh, I)
Dim the lights
Baby, let's get eye-to-eye
Just you and me, please look at me (Oh, I)
Dim the lights
Baby, let's get eye-to-eye
Just you and me, girl. (Oh, I)
