The song was posted to WatZatSong on May 3rd, 2022, by user DH56, saying in the post’s description:
"This was from a rock opera called, "Orpheus in the underground" on the BBC in 1977. I have other songs from it but they are probably just as obscure. You'll know them all, or none. Shame there is no information on this, it was quite good."
On May 20th, 2022, the OP said The BBC Genome said it was aired twice on Christmas of 1977, but was never broadcasted since. He also said the song was the only part he recorded.[1]
On August 16th, 2022, user jb447 claimed they also recorded the song in 1977, and they still had the cassette, but it wasn’t in good quality.[2]
A day later, the OP responded, saying they had a 3.5mm jack plug plugged into their black and white TV’s earphone socket, which fed their stereo system. He also said he recorded about seven minutes. He also asked how long the full rock opera was, because they thought it was 30 minutes or less.[2]
jb447 replied and said he recorded the song by attaching the recording cable wires to the TV’s speaker terminals. A day later the OP linked an archive dedicated to British TV series, but it required a subscription.[2]
