Screaming in Stereo (also known as Cynical Dream and Don’t Ask Me Why) is an almost solved indie rock/britpop song, it’s most likely by Golden, but confirmation is needed.

The song was first posted to TuneId.com by user Noogie Brown on October 9th, 2008. The title of the post said it was from around 1998, and the description read:
"I heard it on xfm in about 98 and recorded it but didnt get the name...although it was possibly by a band called golden but i cant find anything about them...only some american band.."
On June 12th, 2011, user Nvb nvb posted the nearly full song to YouTube. They’re most likely the same person as Noogie, as they provided the exact same information.
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as Mike Worst, LostwaveFinder, OrangeOzarka, Murphy, and multiple others, amassing over 2k views.
On December 15th, 2024, Discord user VCC discovered mention of a band called Golden, but none of their songs are online. However, the vocalist was in another band called Elviss, and his voice sounds very similar.[1]
On December 27th, 2024, the OP came back and said the song after it on the tape was The Sweetest Thing by U2, which released as a single in October of 1998.
After a Discogs seller was contacted, they said it wasn't their song Passenger. but there's another song of theirs named "Innocence of Faith" that fits the description. if it's not that song either, than it's likely a demo.
