Saddamthumping, formerly Let's Hunt Him Down is an identified song misattributed to "Weird Al" Yankovic. It's a parody of "Tubthumping" by the British alternative rock band Chumbawamba.

Search History

In July of 2001, the song was first mentioned on a "music humor" site called amiright.com, where the lyrics were published and the song was mislabeled as Suddam by Dandaman.[1]

In 2002, the song made an appearance on the Not Al list, a list of songs misattributed to Weird Al Yankovic on file sharing sites, and was credited as Saddam Hussein (Chumbawumba parody).

On June 9th, 2024, it was discovered that it was likely made by Kirk, Mark, and Lopez. The archived audio can be heard here. It was later confirmed to have been created by them.

Lyrics

[Intro]
We should kill him
Would be thrilling
Just to kill him

[Chorus]
Let's hunt him down and shoot him in the head
Let's beat the crap out of Saddam
Let's hunt him down and shoot him in the head
And bomb Iraq to the ground
Let's hunt him down and shoot him in the head
Let's beat the crap out of Saddam
Let's hunt him down and shoot him in the head
And bomb Iraq to the ground

[Bridge]
Don't screw with the U.S.A
Don't screw with the U.S.A

[Verse]
Now if he does attack, we're gonna drop a stack
Of missiles on Iraq and get him off our back
And if he get rid of all this nerve gas
The U.S army's gonna kick him in the ass! (kick him in the ass!)
We should destroy, should destroy, that Iraqi boy

[Chorus]
Let's hunt him down and shoot him in the head
Let's beat the crap out of Saddam
Let's hunt him down and shoot him in the head
And bomb Iraq to the ground
Let's hunt him down and shoot him in the head
Let's beat the crap out of Saddam
Let's hunt him down and shoot him in the head
And bomb Iraq to the ground

[Outro]
(Hey this is Steven Tyler, welcome to the Gone Zone and the way out of sphere with Kirk Mark and Lopez on 98 Rock in Baltimore.)
