On August 7th, 2009, user Syplonite first posted the song to YouTube, titling it "Unknown spanish song". They didn’t provide any information about the song, and by the time someone commented, Syplonite was inactive.
2021-2022
On July 13th, 2021, user Jasink1987 mentioned the song on the r/NameThatSong subreddit. He was looking for a copy of the song and claimed to have originally downloaded it from Limewire, a peer-to-peer file sharing service launched in 2000.[4]
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by multiple users, such as Mysterious Voice, Jorge Garcia B, Q, Nick Cipriani, Thundrysh, P, AlianTheObscure, Zumi, ZapperRS, LostwaveFinder, LostwaveTT, S2h, and multiple others, amassing over 83k views.
2024
On March 3rd, 2024, a channel for the song was created in the Fond My Mind Discord server after winning a channel poll, along with Fly Away, Thought So At The Time, Uptown People, Just Make It Louder, Somewhere In The Night, The Things We Never Do, Red Light, Jenny, and Take Us To Dreamland.
On July 11th, 2024, Reddit user migaja_de_pan discovered that the song sampled the drums from Philadelphia-based rapper Schoolly D's 1986 hip-hop song Saturday Night.[5][6]
On August 8th, 2024, the song was discovered to originate from Soulseek, misattributing it to Linkin Park (misspelled as "Lincoln Park") under the name "Rubia.mp3". This file also has a higher quality than Syplonite's. This one has a cutoff at ~9kHz, while the Soulseek file has a cutoff at 16kHz.
Since it's unlikely an average person would think a Spanish song is by Linkin Park (an English-speaking band), some people speculate that the original artist never attached their name to the song, with the purpose of attracting attention. However, this is not proven.
Spanish searchers have theorized that the song is from Spain[7], Chile[8], or Puerto Rico[9], because of the singer's accent and way they pronounce certain sounds.[10]
Lyrics
[Intro]
¿Qué defecto he encontrado en mí?
¿Qué más podrás tú damnificar?
¿Cómo un insomnio confunde el dolor?
Qué calor, qué calor
[Verse 1]
Si yo encontrara la manera de amarte
Será mi deseo besarte la espalda
Controlar mis celos, tu alma
Cierra tus ojos
[Chorus]
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
Llevarte hasta hasta el cielo
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
Enseñarte mis deseos
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
Bañarte entre estrellas
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
¡Hasta la muerte lo haré!
[Verse 2]
Si yo pudiera morderte los labios
Envolver tu cuerpo, tu alma
Vendar tus ojos
Amarrarte las manos
De lo que quiera
¡De lo que quiera!
[Chorus]
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
Llevarte hasta hasta el cielo
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
Enseñarte mis deseos
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
Bañarte entre estrellas
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
¡Hasta la muerte lo haré!
[Chorus]
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
Llevarte hasta hasta el cielo
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
Enseñarte mis deseos
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
Bañarte entre estrellas
Rubia, yo quiero amarte
¡Hasta la muerte lo haré!
[Outro]
¡Hasta la muerte lo haré!
¡Hasta la muerte!
[Intro]
What flaw have I found in myself?
What more could you harm?
How does insomnia confuse the pain?
So hot, so hot
[Verse 1]
If I could find a way to love you
It would be my desire to kiss your back
To control my jealousy, your soul
Close your eyes
[Chorus]
Blonde, I want to love you
Take you up to the sky
Blonde, I want to love you
Show you my desires
Blonde, I want to love you
Bathe you in stars
Blonde, I want to love you
I'll do it till death!
[Verse 2]
If I could
Bite your lips
Wrap
Your body, your soul
Blindfold your eyes
Tie your hands
Do whatever I want
Whatever I want!
[Chorus]
Blonde, I want to love you
Take you up to the sky
Blonde, I want to love you
Show you my desires
Blonde, I want to love you
Bathe you in stars
Blonde, I want to love you
I'll do it till death!
[Chorus]
Blonde, I want to love you
Take you up to the sky
Blonde, I want to love you
Show you my desires
Blonde, I want to love you
Bathe you in stars
Blonde, I want to love you
I'll do it till death!
[Outro]
I'll do it till death!
Till death!
