The song was first posted onto an 80's minimal synth mix by the user KatowiceStation on July 6th, 2017 with the title "80s Minimal Synth / Minimal Wave / Coldwave / Experimental Mix Vol. 4". The song plays at around 8:00 and was the only song without copyright.
On February 10th, 2022, user RojoCatto reposted the song to WatZatSong, asking who the song was by.
He also reuploaded the song to YouTube on July 18th, 2022, along with Ensemble Pittoresque - A Distant Dance (2007) and Vo Ese - Rike's Birthday (1985) in one large upload.
On August 7th, 2023, user Ziro also reuploaded the song onto YouTube.
On October 13th, 2023, RojoCatto identified the song as Rose Pourpre by Alex June.
