Please Come Home is an unidentified yacht-rock song that began circulating on the cassette tape "Wings - Wild Wonders" in the '80s as a purported Paul McCartney and Wings outtake.

Search History

Sometime around 1987, bootleggers circulated the song on audio tapes, mislabeling it as a Paul McCartney & Wings studio outtake.[1] This song is the second track on the tape.

This lead to the song being featured in two separate newsletters devoted to unofficial Beatles recordings, Scott Belmer featured it in 1987, and L.R.E. King subsequently included it in another newsletter in 1989 as a direct response to Scott Belmer's review of the song.

The song's earliest known online mention dates to sometime around 1998 when user Randwolf included it on his now-defunct website, which aimed at cataloging recordings of The Beatles.[2]

On July 13th, 2018, user BeatlesBootlegs9 posted the song to YouTube, along with all the other songs on the tape. The tape said the song was from 1977, but this is likely not correct. Together with Need A Guarantee Of Love, they are one of the few songs on the album where the singer can be heard well.

The artists behind the four identified songs from the tape are all from Long Island, New York. And according to one of them, their songs were submitted to various radio contests in the late '70s, such as WBAB 102.3's Homegrown Hour show and WALK's radio show's, which was dedicated to showcasing local talent. These shows are likely the source from which bootleggers stole the song.

Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I think about you everyday, girl
You're always on my mind
I haven't heard from you, baby
Now I'm wondering why
Nothing's the same without you
I need your tender touch
Just can't go on this way, honey
I miss you so much

[Chorus]
Please come home, baby
I feel so all alone, honey
Please come home

[Verse 2]
So damn cold in New York City
Gets colder everyday
But I've got this job to do, honey
I can't get to L.A.
Ooh, you say you love me, darling
But we're so far apart, ooh
I can't take this situation
It’s just breaking my heart

[Chorus]
Please come home
I feel so all alone, honey
Please come home

[Outro]
Please come home (Please come home, darling)
Life feels so hard alone (Don't you know how I feel so all alone)
Please come home (Please come home, home, please come home!)
I feel so all alone
Please come home
I feel so all alone
Please come home
I feel so all alone
Please come home
I feel so all alone
Please come home
I feel so all alone
