The song was posted to the r/lostmedia and r/lostwave SubReddits on September 9th, 2022 by user CMDLineKing. He found the song in a pile of CDs that only had one song. The CD didn’t have any writing on it and he theorizes it’s a demo.
Shortly after, the OP edited his second post to note that he's from Northern Virginia, meaning the band is possibly from there too, but he said the band could’ve been from a mid-Atlantic area or from around Washington D.C. too.
In the comments, the OP said he found the CD while cleaning out an office space that was shared for multiple years, and it was in a drawer full of CDs. He asked people that were currently working at the offices but nobody recognized the song.[1]
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as ActualBreadUnit, Q, Ofrix, S2h, Twenty6, LostwaveFinder, 𝑀𝑟. 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑝𝑠, AlianTheObscure, and multiple others, amassing over 4k views.
Lyrics[]
Thinking back to all the time
We draw an ace in different fines
Memories are nothing but that
Feeling trapped just like a rat
Just can't shake this sinking feeling
Just can't explain what I am seeing
Strange, what peaceful is this for
In the back of my mind I hear the call
Piercing your thoughts
Bring what was brought
You think it's over
You don't know what's in store
Piercing your thoughts
Bring what was brought
You think it's over
Promising greatness but lacking in faith
I can give what you desire
Just step on closer to the fire
Fire going but it don't burn
It's much too late to play pretend
Piercing your thoughts
Bring what was brought
You think it's over
You don't know what's in store
Piercing your thoughts
Bring what was brought
You think it's over
Promising greatness but lacking in faith
Piercing your thoughts
Bring what was brought
You think it's over
You don't know what's in store
Piercing your thoughts
Bring what was brought
You think it's over
Promising greatness but lacking in faith
I'm falling, I'm falling, falling
I'm falling, I'm falling, I'm falling
