Pieces (formerly known as Everyone Wants A Piece Of You) is a formerly unidentified alternative rock song by British band The Departure, recorded in 2008 on the album Inventions, but the band broke up before the album’s release.

The song was uploaded to peer-to-peer filesharing site Soulseek on December 31st, 2024, by user Kurto. It was played on a Peruvian radio station by DJ Relax.
On June 1st, 2024 Q reuploaded the song to YouTube. Due to some error between the person who originally cut the unknowns from Kurto's recordings, this song plays at 4:34 right after My Feelings Always Pay The Price, which plays first in the video at the 0:00 timestamp.
Two days later, user DGTalBits1023 commented on the video saying that the song sounded like the band The Departure.[1]
Three days after the comment, on June 6th, 2025, the song was identified by Discord user AzureBlast as Pieces by The Departure, after looking through Lost.fm after remembering the comment bringing up the band, and finding an upload on YouTube.[2][3]

The Departure[]
The Departure was an English rock band from Northampton, formed in October 2003. Their debut album, Dirty Words, was released 13th June 2005 by Parlophone. A second album, Inventions, was expected to be released in early 2008, but was not (due to issues with the band's record label, Parlophone). The band split up on 30th January 2008.
