2021-2024
On May 24th, 2021, user Hpets posted the song to YouTube. They said it was downloaded off of filesharing website Soulseek between 2014 to 2015, but it was already tagged as being an unknown song.
On September 14th, 2021, user xBoogie714x reposted the song to WatZatSong. They said they had gotten the audio from Hpet’s upload, so they didn’t have any additional information about the song.
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as, Barni, Eccote, JayKay, Q, Spade, Aero, Ofrix, LostwaveFinder, S2h, and multiple others, amassing over 8k views.
On December 6th, 2022, after users started to theorize the song was from around 1986, a deleted WZS user discovered the drum machine the song used was created in 1989, meaning the song was most likely from the 1990s.[1]
On March 3rd, 2024, a channel for the song was created in the FMM Discord server after winning a channel poll, along with Fly Away, Thought So At The Time, Uptown People, The Things We Never Do, Jenny, Just Make It Louder, Somewhere In The Night, Rubia, Red Light, and Take Us To Dreamland.
Users immediately noted that there were vinyl crackles in the song, meaning it was officially released, or was a test pressing. Sometime between late 2024-early 2025, the OP’s YouTube account was deleted for unknown reasons.
2025
On April 6th, 2025, user Pace posted the song to YouTube, claiming it was “Slam Jam - One More Chance (1992)”. The song came from a compilation album called Slam Jam Volume 1, which was produced by CBA Paragon Records. It did not credit any of the featured artists. In the description, Pace said:
“this is the best that I could do with the ID. If you can do better, go for it”
Users quickly doubted this claim, due to the audio Pace used being the exact same as the audio in the original upload, Pace being a known hoaxer who faked solving Forever, the album being categorized as hip-hop on Discogs, and other songs in Port Antonio Publishing’s catalog not sounding similar.
Pace said that he got the info about the song after he contacted user and Lyon Funk member Brahim, but people still doubted him[2]. So Discord user Basketry contacted Brahim, at first he said it wasn’t the same, but he later confirmed the song was the same as the song on the compilation after relistening to it.
On April 8th, 2025, LWFW user SodaRev! contacted one of the people owned the album, who also confirmed that the song was the same. Later that day, the producer of the album was found by users Yuri and Britney, and he was contracted by users Nel and Sveta, he redirected to the writer of the song, Nelson Curry, who said it was by Thomasina Germany, but no online presence of Thomasina could be found.
One day later, the song was fully identified by users Pace, Brahim, WeatherApp240, Yuri, Britney, basketry, Nel, sveta, and Nelson Curry to indeed be One More Chance by Thomasina Germany.[3]
On May 27th, 2025, HQ audio of the song and the full album were posted to YouTube by user OccupiedMind after WeatherApp bought the album and sent it to them. Apart from this song and two others, all of the songs on the album are unidentified.
Debunked Leads
The song was theorized to be by the group SHE, but there was no evidence for this other than the singers sounding similar. After the song was solved, Thomasina confirmed she was not a part of the group.
Presumed lyrics
[Verse]
I know where there's a place where we can go
Share a love that will last forever
There's no need to hesitate
There's a passion in my heart, boy
That just won't wait, yeah
[Pre-Chorus]
Ooh, I can hardly wait (I can hardly wait)
To hold you tight, caress your body close to mine
Say it's not too late (say it's not too late)
For this love affair to work out right, give me
[Chorus]
(One more chance) Give me one more chance now
(Understand) I'm the woman who loves you
Who love you love you (ooh, boy, it's true)
[Verse 2]
Undеrstand I'm the woman who will love you right (who's gonna love you right)
Baby, takе your time and do it nice and slow
I don't care if it takes all night, yeah
Is it right for me to feel this way (is it right for me)
All my heart and soul I will give to you
Please say you'll stay
'cause ooh, boy
[Pre-Chorus]
I can hardly wait (I can hardly wait)
To hold you tight, caress your body close to mine
Say it's not too late (say it's not too late)
For this love affair to work out right, give me
[Chorus]
(One more chance) Give me one more chance now
(Understand) I'm the woman who loves you, ooh, boy, it's true
[Pre-Chorus]
I can hardly wait (I can hardly wait)
To hold you tight, caress your body close to mine
Say it's not too late (say it's not too late)
For this love affair to work out right
[Chorus]
(One more chance) Ooh, yeah
(Understand) I'm the woman and, boy, I'm for you
(One more chance) Give me one more chance
(Understand) I'm the woman and I love you
[Outro]
Please, baby, let me prove to you what kind of woman I could be
And how I can make things right
Oh, baby, please don't make me beg
All I want is just one, more, chance
