No Pain, No Gain (formerly known as Hazel Wants You To Know and Meaner And Stronger) is a formerly unidentified punk rock song by Belgian band Rise Above, released in 1991 on the EP B Is For Boston.

Search History[]

The song was posted to WatZatSong on October 24th, 2011, by user eraserHead. They said it was on an old tape from the 1990s, but they didn’t provide any additional information, nor a longer snippet, but it was likely recorded off of a radio station. The lyrics mentioned someone named Hazel.

On February 19th, 2023, the song was identified by WZS user IceeStare/Marktrail as No Pain, No Gain by Rise Above, presumably after finding an upload of it on YouTube or by searching for punk bands with a member named Hazel. As band member Hazel/Françoise Lepers did vocals on the album this song was from.

Lyrics[]

This thing is almost over, I hope you liked it this time around
But before we go, there’s one more thing that Hazel wants you to know

Getting (???) meaner, meaner and stronger
And I can’t take all this shit, for very much longer
Now I’m getting myself ready, for your attack
You know I’m getting myself ready, (???) back

One sided war, no more!
One sided war, no more!
One sided war, no more!
One sided war, one sided no more, no!

Mama’s getting smarter, every day
And my body gets harder, in every way
Now my heart is less [hairy], (???)
You know I’m not afraid to hurt you not afraid to (???)

Come on
One sided war, no more!
One sided war, no more!
One sided war, no more!
One sided war, one sided, one sided no more, no!

You think you’re a man, you think you’re a stromng
But you’ve seen nothing yet
No more words, no more time
Total destruction of your power

One sided war, no more!
One sided war, no more!
One sided war, no more!
One sided war, one sided, one sided, no more, no!
