Need You Tonight is a formerly unidentified jangle pop/country rock song by Californian band The Border Tones, released in 1988 on their self titled EP.

The song was posted to SoundCloud on December 20th, 2022, by user Vincent Gonzales. He didn’t provide any information about the song, but it had a tape hiss and was likely recorded off of a radio station.
On October 12th, 2023, user Mike Worst reuploaded the song to YouTube. A day later, it was identified by user Fatbird as Need You Tonight by The Border Tones after finding an image of the lyrics sheet.[1]
On December 17th, 2023, the full song was posted to YouTube by user Tony St Pierre after the record arrived and he ripped it.

The Border Tones[]
The Border Tones was a short lived country rock, blues rock, pop rock, and rock & roll band from El Cajon, California, USA.
The band consisted of Chris Johnson, Dave Montgomery, Frank Signorelli, Jeff Thill, and Johnny Payne.
In 1988, they released their first and only EP, self-titled The Border Tones, which included this song and three others.
