Not to be confused with other songs titled or called Pretty.
My Pretty Doll is an unidentified post-britpop/indie rock song. It's a hoax, as the OP knows the song's name, though it's still unknown.

The song was first posted to WatZatSong on March 19th, by user Account12399. They said it was recorded onto a cassette tape off of a radio station in the 2000s, and they linked the nearly full version on Vocaroo. They posted a higher quality 54 second long snippet in the replies[1]
On June 20th, when user Nonoseacrest asked which radio station they recorded it from, the OP said their friend owned the casette, and they recorded it from that cassette.[2]
Five days later, the OP posted a higher quality version of the nearly full song. They also provided more information, stating that their friend said he had recorded the song off of a college radio station.[3]
On the same day, users Acu-Rite and Swiðr reuploaded the song[4][5]. And it was given a channel on the Fond My Mind Discord server, being put in the "Main Unknowns" category sometime later.
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several over users, such as JayKay, XelaPunk, Zumi, UZ, BubblegumBlitz, Revolutionary_War, LostwaveFinder, Q, Aero, VisualConfusion, Ofrix, P, S2h, AlianTheObscure, and multiple others, amassing over 100k views.
On September 6th, following theories that the song was from Spain, Mexico, or South America, the OP said they were from Seville, Spain, but their friend recorded the song in the United Kingdom.[6]

On January 11th, the OP said their friend said the contents of the cassette were recorded between 2006-2007, and it had a second side with more songs.[7]
On February 1st, when user Randomslev asked the OP if they could post the tape, they said said they didn't have it.[7]

On July 20th, user mpdsteven commented on the original post, he said:
"I am fascinated by the attention this little mystery received. I was not aware of this search at all until recently - I do not have an idea who the original poster of this sample is - and I have no idea how could such a great song get lost to time. If you have any questions you would like me to answer, feel free to ask.
I am not in any way related to the poster of this sample nor the one you linked. Maybe it is a friend of a friend of mine. Nonetheless I have never heard that other track."[8]
Later that day, Steven said he'd give proof, saying he'd provide a full high quality recording. He posted the song to Vocaroo and said it was most likely from 2009, as the other songs between it on the tape were released in 2009.[8] When asked by user VisualConfusion asked if he had any information about Cast Away From Here, another song posted by Account12399, Steven said:
"I am not in any way related to the poster of this sample nor the one you linked. Maybe it is a friend of a friend of mine. Nonetheless I have never heard that other track."[9]
Despite not knowing Account12399, he backed up their claim of the tape having a second side, saying:
"I recorded from various stations around the Sheffield area at the time. I will go throught the full tape tomorrow and upload both sides. Side one can easily be detected by modern software - no issues with any title. Side two contains four songs impossible to identify with software."[10]
He uploaded the full tape a day later. Whreas the A-side had well known songs, the B-side had three other unidentified songs on it, like he said. Two of them were identified, the one that’s still unidentified is known as We Shall Never Go. He said side B was recorded over at least once.[11] Two days later, when VisualConfusion asked what specific stations Steven recorded songs off of, he said:
"Some of the local ones which I recall were Hallam FM and Sure FM, we also had a local BBC radio. I don't think any of these unknown tracks were recorded from Hallam as they played chart hits if I recall correctly. For the earlier rendition of the tape (around 2000 I believe), I don't remember too well at this point, but it might have even been a pirate radio."[12]

Users in the Discord channel for the song determined the singer likely had an accent from Dorset, UK. The Sure FM lead was looked into again, and it was discovered that in 2009, it changed its name to Forge Radio Station, and it was owned and ran by students of The University of Sheffield. The former station manager was contacted, but she hasn't responded.[citation needed]
On March 9th, Mpdsteven joined the FMM Server[13]. He gave additional info, saying that he recorded the song on a Thursday or Friday evening[14]. He said he was 100% the radio show that played the song had the word "Unsigned" in its name[15], and that the DJ’s name was Henry, but he wasn’t 100% certain on that. He eventually went inactive.
On April 5th, Discord user Lexal8054 found an archive of the Forge Radio schedule from around 2009. There were shows called Unplugged, Unknown Pleasures, and UK Undiscovered[16][17], but nothing with Unsigned in the name. Unplugged can be ruled out though, since it was dedicated to live and/or acoustic versions of songs.
2025
Because of Account12399 and Mpdsteven's behavior (and the possibility that both of them are the same person), combined with the audio of the song being suspicious, this song, We Shall Never Go, and Cast Away From Here, are considered to be likely a hoax by some.[18]
On September 15th, due to increasing suspicions of the song being a hoax, after Cast Away From Here was identified and the OP's claimed recording date didn't line up with the actual release date of the song, the channel in the FMM server was demoted to the "Other Unknown Songs (2)" category.
Four days later, the song channel on the Fond My Mind Discord Server was archived along with Merciless Saints, due to the fact that this song was theorized to very likely be a hoax.[citation needed]
On September 28th, mpdsteven was fully confirmed to be a hoaxer after it was discovered that another song he posted (Euphoric Dream by A Note Two Self) was directly taken from a live performance available on YouTube, meaning that the songs on his “tape” were not all recorded from a radio station as he claimed.[19][20][21]
It is still unknown whether or not this song originated from YouTube as well, but it is almost certainly a hoax by extension.
Lyrics
[Verse 1?]
-Ohh
Oh no
Another day has come
And still I don't feel ready to lock
[Chorus]
My dreams in a box
Cradle me once more
And let me feel you care
Say I'm not alone
Let me feel you
[Verse 2]
I'm unaware of what I should do
To make everybody smile
And say "Man, I'm proud of you"
Huh, yeah
But you know me well
And you don't want me to be
Someone else
[Chorus]
Oh, my pretty doll
Cradle me once more
And let me feel you care
Say I'm not alone
Let me feel you
[Instrumental]
[Ending]
Cradle me once more, my pretty doll
Let me feel you care, my pretty doll
Say I'm not alone
Say the worst days I could live have gone
And the best are yet to come
