"More Headlines" (formerly known as "O.J. Ballad") was an unidentified parody of the song "The Wallflower - One Headlight (1996)" by Diehl Productions and was created in 1997. The song is about the trial of O.J. Simpson from 1995 and originally came from the Spoof section of SoundAmerica and was posted on August 16th, 1997 without an attributed artist.
Search History[]
On August 16th, 1997, an unknown person would post the song on the Spoofs section on the soundamerica website (now defunct). Since then, a WebArchive of the page was found[1], along with a WebArchive of the audio from April 21st, 1998[2]. The file was tagged as "oj-ballad.wav" and unfortunately, not much else was known about the song.
On May 29th, 2025, a WatZatSong user named "viverdemusica14" would upload the song onto the website[3]. They stated that the song was a parody of "The Wallflower - One Headlight (1996)" and was about the O.J. Simpson trial. They provided a Vocaroo link to the full recording[4] and also stated that the song came from a soundamerica WebArchive.
On June 21st, 2025, Lostwave's Unfinest would upload the song onto their channel, including the song with the other Unfinests they've uploaded throughout the channel's existence.
On June 23rd, 2025, Discord user "ross ︵╯( °□°╯)" (Ross Dickinson, the artist behind New Jersey) had found a mention of a parody of the song from a WebArchive of Parody Songs Backvault. It mentions a parody of the song "One Headlight" and was created by Diehl Productions, which the song was considered almost solved.
However luckily, the OP of the song had posted an mp3 of the song onto the LostwaveBrazil Discord server, which turned out to be the song we were looking for.
Presumed Lyrics[]
So long ago
That I don't give a damn
That Simpson trial swept across the land
Well that Simpson guy
Snapped her like a stroker
Hard to see
I swear his needs
Were ever OJ's dreams
The camera's on up his butt yeah
[?]
We want a long fight
With OJ's playin' gone
Always seems such a waste
I'd rather want some [?]
I wonder why we're hung up on his place
Hey!
One more trial for Simpson
Make it last forever
There can be nothing better than
Mr. Simpson!
She likes Simpson [?]
Pull the phone and get her
We can watch it all
With more in line
