Memorybank was a musical project in the summer of 1987 directed by Tim Addy, and the band behind the formerly unidentified songs Treadmill Of Time, Chart Rundown, and Here To Have Fun.

The band is composed of singer Jonathan Lewis, instrumentalist Tim Addy, Simon Gorman, and Nik Lawrence (singer of Photographique's French cover).

The project/band was completely inspired by Depeche Mode, but roughly on the album Some Great Reward.

The band had been a lead for the songs since 2021, but in February of 2023, band member Tim Addy would confirm that the band had made the songs.

On September 20th, 2024, Tim Addy would provide user Sam with a track list for an album called The Key To The Door, including songs with the same titles as the unknown songs, finally making the songs fully solved. Tim is currently trying to find the master tapes for the album.

"Memorybank" project

In the summer of 1987, Tim Addy along with Jonathan Lewis, Simon Gorman and Nik Lawrence started the project called "Memorybank". According to Tim, the project was done in a "fun" way without any financial reason and said that it was fun to have done this project, especially the 7 songs of the band. He himself stated that Simon Gorman and Nik Lawrence did nothing on the project and that initially thought a 4-person band was a good idea.

In February 2023, the Discord user "humanracer" gets contact with Tim Addy, who promptly stated that the 3 songs are from the album that he and Jonathan composed under the name Memorybank.

In September 2024, the user Sam gets contact with Tim Addy and this time, he sent a photo of the Cassette inlay from the album The Key To The Door 1987 Memorybank, proving the authorship of the 3 songs.

Search

Before there was any search for the authors of the songs Treadmill Of Time, Chart Rundown and Here To Have Fun, Nik was one of the first to cite Memorybank’s authorship of the songs through his comment on the first upload of Treadmill Of Time.

When he was first contacted by "humanracer" he mentioned that he had been in a short-term band called "Memorial" (he said the name wrong) and he mentioned that he had done the French cover of "Photographique".

Simon Gorman was one of the members of Memorybank, along with Tim Addy, Jonathan Lewis and Nik Lawrence. His role within the band is unknown.
