Machine Is On (formerly known as She Is Gone) is a formerly unidentified indie rock/glam punk song by Scottish band Fake Fang, recorded around 2007.
Search History
The song was posted to YouTube on February 6th, 2024, by user SicksadworldLA. The video was a mixtape of songs recorded off of El Laboratorio de Relax, a Peruvian radio show run by DJ Relax. The description read:
"Fifth compilation of recordings of some classics in this segment and some rarities tuned to Radio Doble Nueve."
"I can't identify some tracks, so they remain unknown."
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by multiple users, such as Q, S2h, LostwaveFinder, The Backyard Of LWA19, and multiple others, amassing over 5k views. On August 5th, 2025, Fandom user Octavia commented on the LWFW article of the song, bringing up the possibility of it being Machine Is On by Fangs/Fake Fang/Motormark, saying:
"So im prob just schizo but fake fang (aka motormark & fangs) has a demo song called machine is on, fake fang also had 2 dj relax lostwaves, w for warhol and pussycat. during the chorus they could be saying "now that you know she is gone, the machine is on".[1]
When user AzureBlast asked Octavia where she found mention of the song, she said:
"Last.fm, machine is on was scrobbled under all of their aliases (fangs, motormark and fake fang) but fake fang is where it was mostly scrobbled which was their name around 2007. i also read in an interview that was around the time they put alot of demos up on their myspace. i cant find any contact info for anyone tho so i cant confirm it qwq"[1][2]
On December 5th, 2025, the song was fully identified by Backyard as Machine Is On by Fake Fang after they searched up "motormark" and "live" on YouTube and found a snippet of it being performed.[3]
