Los Islas Limonados (English: The Lemonade Islands) is a debut studio Punk album by German band Razzia, released in 1985 on the label Weird System.

It contains two formerly unidentified songs originally played by John Peel: Die Limo-Insel (English: The Limo Island) and Neo-Nazi.

History[]

The album was recorded in May 1985 during a performance at the Keine Experimente festival in Berlin's Ballhaus Tiergarten club. This work became the band's second record under contract with the Hamburg label Weird System (after the debut Tag ohne Schatten in 1983). The recording was done "live" without subsequent instrumental overdubs — the musicians deliberately abandoned studio improvements in order to preserve the energy and rawness of the concert sound.

The edition was released as a limited edition: a total of 1,000 numbered copies on vinyl, complemented by an illustrated inner envelope with a photo of the band. The track list includes both well‑known songs (for example, Arsch Im Sarge) and new compositions with acute socio‑political themes. The Barriere‑Dub track deserves special mention: it was recorded back in August 1983, and remixed for the release of the album. Thus, Los Islas Limonados not only fulfilled its contractual obligations to the label, but also cemented Razzia's reputation as one of the key bands in the German punk scene of the mid‑1980s.

Razzia[]

Razzia is a German punk band from Hamburg, founded in 1979 by brothers Andreas Siegler (guitar) and Peter Siegler (drums) together with Thomas Harm (bass). Over its more than forty-year history, the band has gone through several breakups and rebirths (active periods: 1979-1992, 1993-2004, from 2008 to the present), changed its composition several times, but always retained a recognizable style — energetic punk rock with harsh, socio‑political lyrics. The band became one of the key figures in the German punk scene, speaking out against fascism, capitalism and social injustice from a cynically pessimistic, countercultural position.

During their career, Razzia released 9 studio and 5 live albums, collaborating with the labels Weird System, Impact Records, Colturschock and Major Label. Their songs were included in iconic collections of early German punk, such as Paranoia In Der Strassenbahn and the Punk Rock BRD series. The latest studio album to date, "Am Rande von Berlin" (2019, Major Label), demonstrated the evolution of the band's sound while remaining faithful to its punk rock roots.

The band is still active today.
