Not to confused with another song by Royal Treatment Plant titled "Funky", as that song has it's official title that is the same as the placeholder name of this song.



"Lo Rider [Lo Version]" (formerly known as "Funky") is a formerly unidentified breaks song by the German band, "Air Liquide" and was released as a single in 1999. The song is a remix of the 1975 song Low Rider by War, but with the lyrics containing "funky".

Search History[]

On May 16th, 2022, user DH56 posted the song onto WatZatSong. He didn’t provide any information about where the song came from, but said it was from 1999 or earlier. Due to WatZatSong's 30 second limit, DH56 provided a longer sample via Vocaroo.

On June 22nd, 2024, Ziro reposted the song onto her YouTube channel to give it more attention. A day later, the OP posted a snippet to Vocaroo of the radio DJ, John Peel, talking about how he played the song earlier but at the wrong speed, before playing it again.

A day later DH56 confirmed he recorded the song off of a John Peel show in June of 1999. The same day, he brought up the possibility of the song being Lo Rider by Air Liquide after finding it in one of John Peel's shows, being the first one to play.

Another day later, on June 24th, 2024, the song was fully identified by users BobOrange and Bloost Media as Lo Rider by Air Liquide.
