Theories and debunked leads
One of the biggest theories is that this song has the same singer as "La La La". Proof of this theory is the strong similarity of voices in both songs, as well as their similar origin.
There is speculation that this song may have been inspired by "Come Go with Me" by Exposé and "Call Me" by Spagna.
Someone called "oliver disco" uploaded a video to YouTube where he lists “Kristin Wagner” as the singer of "Let's Get Up", however this turned out to be a hoax, as well as another channel who lists a "Mary Singler-Maissner" as the singer, however this is also false and made up.

Isabelle Torilla and Larry Bonneville
On September 3, 2024, Reddit user u/flame_will_consume suggested[1] that the unidentified female singer from the live version of "The Fire Inside" could also be the singer who performed "Let's Get Up" and "La La La". This was disproven, as it was later revealed that all the other performers in the music video for "The Fire Inside", with the exception of Larry Bonneville, whose traces have vanished, have confirmed that they did not perform on any of the songs:
- The woman who can be seen in the video clip (recorded 1986 at the discotheque KU in Garbsen) is not the real vocalist of the song. She was a performer in the adult film business, starring in several VTO productions. Same goes for the other musicians. I've been able to find all of them except for the dancer wearing the blonde wig and they were all part of the Hannover music scene back in the day.[2]
More information:
On the eccote upload of the song, one commented saying:
- This is a VTO/GALAXY music production (Thilo Rex). The singers want to remain unknown though. Specially produced for just this movie (it's called "The Perfect Stranger"), by the same team, just as "You Gotta Find It" (real name "La la la" - no joke) (movie: Sin Dreams with Desiree) and "Born For Love" (movie: Born for Love 1+2).
It was also said that the song is indeed named "Let’s Get Up", but the singer wanted to remain anonymous.
Presumed lyrics
[Verse 1]
Everybody starts to lose control
When the music feels right!
If you see somebody hanging around this place
Well don’t get uptight!
[Pre-Chorus]
It's the only thing we want to do to tonight
It's being going round and round
[To my home, my folks are down/Turn my whole life upside down]
[Chorus]
Everybody say, "let’s get up"!
Cmon let's get loose
Don’t hide back the feeling
Everybody say, "let’s get up!"
Cmon let's get loose
You can't deny your feelings
"Let's get up"
Cmon let's get loose
Don’t hide back the feeling
Everybody say, "let’s get up!"
Cmon let's get loose
You can't deny your feelings
[Instrumental Break]
[Verse 2]
I can feel it near, somethings going on
And it's not quite clear
But you shouldn’t fear!
The rhythms hot and good
And my friends are there
From the neighbourhood
It’s just like it should!
[Pre-Chorus]
It's the only thing we want to do tonight
it's been going round and round
[To my home, my folks are down/Turn my whole life upside down]
It's the only thing we do tonight
It's been going round and round
[To my home, my folks are down/Turn my whole life upside down]
[Chorus]
Everybody say, "let’s get up!"
Cmon let's get loose
Don’t hide back the feelings
Everybody say, "let’s get up!"
Cmon let's get loose
You can't deny your feelings
Everybody say, "let’s get up!"
Cmon let's get loose
Don’t hide back the feelings
Everybody say, "let’s get up!"
Cmon let's get loose
You can't deny your feelings
Everybody say, "let’s get up!"
Cmon let's get loose
Don’t hide back the feelings
Everybody say, "let’s get up!"
Cmon let's get loose
You can't deny your feelings
Everybody say, "let’s get up!"
Cmon let's get loose
