2010s
On January 14th, 2013, musician and YouTuber Joji (then known by his "Filthy Frank" character) posted a video titled "HOW TO PICK UP WOMEN IN 30 DIFFERENT CULTURES" on his DizastaMusic channel. At one point in the video, he can be seen dancing to an unknown African song.
His fans immediately wondered what this song was. On the original video (which has been deleted), Joji himself was asked about this song and that he didn't know where he got it from.[2]
At one point on the December 21th, 2015, a video titled "NEW African Cristiano Ronaldo - AMAZING Long Shot HD" was posted on the TM2 channel. In the video, a kid kicks a ball and sends it nowhere near the goal and when he botches the kick, the song plays.
When asked where he got the song from, he claimed he got it from the "Deep Web" and that "it coast [sic] me 10£". This led to speculation that Joji himself got the song from the deep web. However, this was very unlikely, and it's likely TM2 said it as a joke.[3]
It was speculated that the song is sung in the Luganda language of Uganda, and that the lyrics translated to English are either "The child is born, the boy is taken care of" or "The child's been born for us, the boy's been sent to us", the latter one leading to speculation that it's a Christmas song.
2020s
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by multiple users, such as KoreBoredom, JayKay, Abraham Lost Songs, Q, Revolutionary_War, Aero, and multiple others, amassing over 100k views.
On December 3th, 2023, YouTuber nbduckman uploaded a video called "The Search for the Filthy Frank Kenya Song", which explained the history of the search up to that point, mentioned some potential leads, and offered a $300 bounty for finding the song.
That same day, Discord user damn peggy watched the video and decided to try searching for the song. He searched YouTube for "east ugandan gospel before:2013", and almost immediately found the song. nbduckman subsequently released another video that day announcing the find, and awarded the $300 bounty to damn peggy.
The name of the song was revealed to be Katonda Alinawe by Ugandan gospel singer David SonJC. He felt blessed after discovering that his song got lost.[4]

English Translation [5]
David SonJC,
New style, new style
God is with you, with you, with you
God is with you, with you, with me
He is with you, with me, with us
Onto us a child is born,
Onto us a son is given
Power is in his hands,
The great god
Our everlasting father
The lion of Judah
The bright morning star
Prince of peace
Huuuu
God is with you, with you, with you
God is with you, with you, with me
He is with you, with me, with us
God is with you, with you, with you
God is with you, with you, with me
He is with you, with me, with us
You are surrounded by problems,
You feel overwhelmed
God says, fear not, for I have redeemed you
I have called you by your name
You are mine
When you go through the waters
I will be with you
When you go through the rivers
They shall not overflow you
When you go through the fire
It will not burn you
Because I am the Lᴏʀᴅ, your god
The holy one of Israel
Your savior
Huuhuuhu
God is with you, with you, with you
God is with you, with you, with me
He is with you, with me, with us
Now, my advice for you
My dear, don't give up
Those huge problems you are going through
The Lᴏʀᴅ is taking them away
Those chains on you
The Lᴏʀᴅ is breaking them up
The poverty you are going through
The Lᴏʀᴅ is taking them away
Huuuu
God is with you, with you, with you
(The sick one)
God is with you, with you, with me
(You who are tired)
He is with you, with me, with us
