Late 2024

On October 4th, 2024, user d3tanimr3t (forlord2300) commented on the original video. Two days later, he claimed to be the OP, but didn't provide any proof or additional information.[1]

On October 10th, 2024, the person claiming to be OP said an old friend of his sent the song to him on Christmas of 2007, and they searched for it for "a long time" prior to him posting it.[2][3]

Two days later, he claimed that the friend was named Martin who lived in France, and they weren't in contact anymore. He also said they didn't know where Martin got it from, from he doubted it was MySpace.[4]

On October 18th, 2024, he responded to theories that the song was recorded off of the radio or it was downloaded from Newgrounds, and he said the first theory sounded likely, but the second theory didn't.[5]

A day later, he claimed to contact someone else who knew Martin, and they said they no longer have contact with Martin, but they said Martin also sent them the song in 2009, but Martin didn't provide any information that time either.[6]

On November 10th, 2024, he said he asked another friend of Martin, and he told the OP that he remembered the band having a number in their name, but he didn't remember well. It's possible he was just misremembered Martin comparing the song to Nine Inch Nails.[7]

Theories

Due to the abrupt beginning and ending, it’s possible that the song was recorded off of the radio. In turn, the song might've also originated from a filesharing network. As for the band itself, it may have had a MySpace or Newgrounds profile to upload their tracks on, or a personal website.

Presumed lyrics

[Verse 1]
Louder, I want it louder
So I won't have to listen to the demons in my head
Louder, just make it louder
I'll try to finally sleep and just slip away

[Verse 2]
I don't want to be anything to anyone
Even if I just pretend to blend in
Don't want to be left out, don't want to be laughed at
Same old friends

[Chorus 1]
Can't look into your eyes this time
Don't have to be what you want this time
I could close my eyes and dream now

[Bridge 1]
Eyes and dream now

[Verse 3]
See if you can lean out the window and look for me
I'll be outside laughing and crying
Try to smile even when it hurts
And you don't have to hold them
You could just forget
Forget I even asked
Forget about tomorrow
Same old ends, same old trends

[Chorus 2]
Can't look into your eyes this time
Don't have to be what you want this time
I could close my eyes and dream now
I can clean out this wound

[Bridge 2]
Just slip away
Just slip away
Just slip away

[Chorus 2]
Can't look into your eyes this time
Don't have to be what you want this time
I could close my eyes and dream now
I can clean out this wound

[Instrumental Outro]
