Lyrics[]
[Verse 1]
The note you left me was short and sweet, it said
“I fought the Scotch and you
And I got beat
I got beat.”
[Verse 2]
“So I'm leavin’ you tonight
I hope you get what you want, alright
And a big empty bed
No one to mess with your head.”
[Verse 3]
Now the rain's fallin’ outside
I hope it helps me to hide
The rain inside
The rain inside ('cause)
[Chorus 1]
Johnnie Walker wrote the sad song I'm singin’ tonight
He wrote a song for me and he filled it with spite (yeah)
Johnnie Walker wrote the sad song I'm singin’ tonight
Guess I'll still be singin’ it come daylight, come daylight
[Verse 4]
Then I guess I'll open up this bottle sittin’ here
And take a big old sup
From a dirty cup
Ah, bottoms up
[Verse 5]
I'll drink to the rain outside
I'll drink to the tears I hide
And I'll drink to the man
If he can understand why
[Chorus 2]
Johnnie Walker wrote the sad song I'm singin’ tonight
He wrote a song for me and he filled it with spite (yeah)
Johnnie Walker wrote the sad song I'm singin’ tonight
