In the Secret Garden (also known as Petals) is an unidentified funk song originally posted by user djjoker for his "alternate reality game". Despite it is confirmed the search itself was "staged", identification to the song is yet to be going well.
Search History
On June 22th, 2024, djjoker uploaded the snippet to YouTube and WatZatSong, then on the r/Lostwave subreddit on July 11th, 2024. djjoker stated he only had 30 seconds of the audio, and it was from a bootleg Pingu DVD that the OP had as a child, then he gave to his cousin and the cousin sold it. The full song appeared on the menu music when the episode "Pingu in Paradise" was selected, but the OP only had this part.
On Reddit, jcorsen theorized the song was a hoax inspired by another hoax song that came from a bootleg Iron Man DVD. djjoker confirmed it was a true song from a bootleg Pingu DVD, but would ask the cousin if he had more snippets of the song from the DVD when said came back from his trip to Naples.
When asked, the OP provided more information about the song:
- His cousin recorded the audio.
- The DVD comes from a Moroccan seller, who died some years ago.
- The DVD was a shuffled mix of all the Pingu episodes from every season, they were recorded from a TV in very bad quality.
- The DVD is from 2005-2008.
- The songs from the DVD were in this order:
- Pino D'Angiò - Ma Quale Idea (1981)
- Gigi D'Agostino - L'amour Toujours (1999)
- Geraldo Ayon (?) - In The Secret Garden(?) (~1996)
- Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody (1975)
Near discovery
The deceased Moroccan seller's son claimed that his father ripped the song off a Moroccan radio station in 1996, and he remembers that the song's title was something like "In the Secret Garden" or a similar name. He also said that the singer is Italian-French, and his name was something like "Geraldo Ayon" or something similar.
On october 2nd 2024 OP clained the song was an "alternate reality game".
