The song was first posted to WatZatSong on November 22nd, 2018 by user TipoDual. He recorded it directly off of a Russian mall’s radio. The song had been playing in the mall since around 2015.
On July 31st, 2024, TipoDual posted the full song to YouTube, alongside an AMV for the 1944 movie "Cover Girl". In the description, he said the song was most likely by Gregory Butler.
On November 19th, 2024, the song was identified by Discorc user Funado as In my System by Gregory Butler after he contacted Gregory Butler and he confirmed he sang the song.
