Baby Said That You'd Be Mine is an excerpt from a formerly-unidentified song, originally played in an earlier Flash animation of Neil Cicierega called Wow (wow.swf). It's a minimal cover of The Ramones' song I Don't Want You. The animation can be seen on Flash Museum as of now.
Search History
In an unknown year, Neil Cicierega had released a Flash animation[1] under the filename "wow.swf", presumably on Newgrounds. The animation features two Jerry Seinfelds doing a shake dance, with a spinning mugshot of Paul Reubens (known for Pee-Wee Herman and the arrest for indecent exposure in 1991) in the middle.
The animation also played a 13-second snippet audio cut from an unknown cover of I Don't Want You. It was reposted on a Lemon Demon fansite called EvilTrailMax.com as extra before October 3rd, 2003.
On August 16th, 2019, user Mei Clover uploaded the song to YouTube, looping the snippet for two and a half minutes, asking who was behind the song.
Much later, user BeachioSand contacted Neil on X and asked him about this song and Feliz Navidad, Neil Cicierega refuted his authority to this song, though. He confirmed it was recorded from an online radio show hosted by Austin Wolfclaw. He knew Austin from an animation community.
On August 15th, 2025, user NoahHillTV/Kyterkay discovered a Lemon Demon song that sampled Austin's voice. His voice sounds identical to this song. He's been contacted, but hasn't responded yet.
On September 13th, 2025, Austin responded to both NoahHillTV[2] and JPr Koxeilas, confirming he was the artist[3]. Austin does not have the airing date.[4]
