I’m Only Dreaming is an unidentified new wave song. The snippet is only 19 seconds long.

Search History

On June 10th, 2023, user Kenny Cathead posted a one hour and 25 minute video titled “Unknown” to YouTube. It featured many snippets recorded off of the radio in the 1980s. The song played 32 minutes and 47 seconds into the video.

On August 28th, 2023, Kenny Cathead reposted the song to his WatZatSong account NY80sTapes under the placeholder title "I'm Only Dreaming". It was either recorded off of a New York or New Jersey radio station in 1983 or 1984.

Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as Anon0122, Barni, Q, No Background, Benjamin, Jcorsen, Aero, Ofrix, S2h, AlianTheObscure, and multiple others, amassing over 15k views.

On November 24th, 2023, on the FMM Discord thread for the songs he posted, Kenny said that he wasn’t the person who recorded the tapes, but instead a friend who was trying to make a sound collage, but he recorded a few things.[1]
