"Howard The Duck Reggae Song" is an unidentified reggae song. It plays in the 1986 film Howard the Duck during a scene where everyone is in the club's dressing room chatting. The song doesn't appear in the movie's released soundtrack.

Search History

Before the song's prior search, YouTube user Phaota recorded the song from the movie. Due to the sample playing in a scene with chatter, Phaota tried to remove the chatter from the sample. Despite the efforts, the song is in bad quality due to the removal attempt along with the song possibly being incomplete.

The song's search started on August 16th, 2022 when Phaota uploaded the song onto YouTube, along with backstory about the sample and its origins. The description of the video says:

"Originally recorded, cleaned and enhanced back in 2017 from the classic 1986 "Howard the Duck" film. It was heard in the background during the scene where everyone is in the club's dressing room chatting. Do you know who the artist is that's singing the song? Let me know in the comments. Thanks."

On October 10th, 2024, poster Ziro reuploaded the song onto her channel.

On November 21st, 2024, user basketry contacted Christopher Brooks, a man who worked on the movie. He said the song is a live performance, but he doesn't remember who played it. The man who worked on the soundtrack, John Berry, released an ultra-rare unofficial CD containing the soundtrack of the film. basketry said he'd buy it but it's 50$ and doesn't know if the song is in HQ.

Lyrics (interpreted)

(Ah)
There’s a cool black chick, she’s big on rock and roll, oh yeah
But together-gether, ride on (???)
There’s a girl, there’s a girl, [riding on dirt road], oh yeah
And the reggae, reggae, reggae, is our home (yeah)

(???) down, what a tropical island life
And our music helps [wind down] to [the type], our type
Your life’s watching the same thing
Hello, aloha to you
Oh don’t check out that (???) I know (oh yeah)

There’s a cool black, she’s big on rock and roll, right
But together-gether, ride (???), oh yeah
There’s a girl, there’s a girl, [riding on dirt road], hey
And the reggae, reggae, reggae, is our home, oh yeah

I’m always singing
I know how much you should
Well you (???) far away [to go], oh yeah

There’s a cool black chick, she’s big on rock and roll, right
But together-gether, ride (???), oh yeah
There’s a girl, there’s a girl, [riding on dirt road], yeah
And the reggae, reggae, reggae, is our home (oh yeah)

There’s a cool black chick, she’s big on-
