Haunting Pain is an almost solved alternative rock/post-grunge song. The song first appeared in a video made by Battlefield 2 YouTuber Master-CA. It is likely Concrete - SniperSerie's Song, but more information is needed before confirming the solve.

2000s[]
The song was first used in a Battlefield 2 video titled “Russian Sniper” posted sometime in 2007 by user Master-CA, who is known for making mods and videos about the game.
The video was posted to Master-CA’s website and YouTube channel, but the website no longer works and the YouTube account was deleted. But the video was reuploaded on May 9th, 2013 by user Martin Šober, who said that Master-CA died of cancer.
On August 14th, 2007, a forum post made by a user with the signature Ryan Cutter posted the links to several videos, including one titled Russian Sniper[1]. At the end of the post he wrote:
“the official song from the serie will be available 2 download soon.”
It’s likely that this song is the song he was talking about. But he didn’t make it clear whether or not he made the song.
The oldest YouTube upload that can still be found was posted on August 15th, 2007, by user Draxel. Two days later, in the comments of the upload, Draxel said the song was made by a YouTube user named CAWingardh for a BF2 series[2].
No YouTube channel by this name exists anymore, but a tribute video to Master-CA said that CAWingardh was another name he went by.
On May 10th, 2009, the full song was posted to YouTube by user Advengerr. They didn’t provide any information about the song, but this upload gained the most attention than any of the other uploads of the song.
2010s[]
On May 27th, 2010, the song was posted to WatZatSong by user MoniqueA. User SkaAllison requested a longer snippet, and Monique provided one.[3]
A day later, Allison noted that there were multiple other people trying to find the song, and they linked a YouTube video that’s now been deleted.[3]
On May 14th, 2011, a post made to a Battlefield 2 forum announced that Master-CA died of cancer in 2010. The post said that Master-CA’s real name was Ryan Cutter and that he worked on the British TV show Primeval. The forum post provided an interview with Ryan, but it’s been deleted.[4]
On April 12th, 2012, user TheSnakeSaladin posted the full song under the name Battlefield 2 Concrete - Sniper Serie Song without providing any additonal information.
Early 2020s[]
On May 27th, 2021, YouTube user Ezekiel De La Croix posted a tribute video for Master-CA. The tribute video featured the song, and the description read “the iconic theme song of the Sniper Series by Master-CA Wingardh”. In the comments the OP said they didn’t know the song’s name.
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as Lost Music: Cold Case, MistaEgg, Marksaw, Q, LostwaveFinder, S2h, AlianTheObscure, 𝑀𝑟. 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑝𝑠, and multiple others, amassing over 20k views. Though they all credited Advengerr's upload as the source at first.
On October 26th, 2024, 10 days after Q reuploaded the song. User c3snjofka commented on Ezekiel’s video said that they downloaded the song from YouTube or Google Videos “almost 20 years ago”, but they also didn’t know who made it.[5]
2025[]
On September 12th, 2025, Discord user Basketry discovered that Master-CA and Ryan Cutter were two different people, and Master-CA was still alive, though Ryan did die. She contacted him, but he said he did not remember who the song was by, but it was titled "Concrete" and was downloaded off a filesharing site that he downloaded Battlefield 2 mods off of.[6][7][8][9]
On September 29th, 2025, a channel for the song was created in the Fond My Mind Discord Server, along with Pull Up Fo Fo Da Fo Fo, due to the songs being associated with Halloween.[10]
On October 23rd, 2025, Discord user Alan contacted Draxel, stating that he believed the song had been created by Master-CA and his high school band for use as a video intro[11]. Draxel also provided the full audio recording of the track.[12]
Subsequently, Discord user Murphy analyzed the file’s metadata and discovered that the title and artist were listed as Concrete – SniperSerie's Song[13]. The track also has a corresponding page on Last.fm and has multiple scrobbles from three different users.
A day later, Alan shared another message from Draxel who said that he was:
"pretty sure he (master-ca) said it was made by some high-school band he was in"
Draxel also said he could not remember any more info about it. Due to this contradicting what Master-CA had said, this has caused confusion on whose story is correct.
On November 1st, 2025, the FMM channel for the song was archived due to arguments about whether or not the song should be considered solved.
