On December 3rd, 2024, Facebook user Roger Robinson replied to a post[5] about the song, saying the song was by Californian band Of Shattered Glass and tagged the vocalist of that band Steve Bunn.
A day later, Steve responded and said that he was the singer and writer of the song 'Hate' made in 1991. He said it was a cassette release and only 50 were made. Steve provided a picture of the cassette saying he didn’t have anything to play it on anymore.
The band made a YouTube account on the same day and commented on both uploads of the song posting the official lyrics. Ryan Hampton, founder and keyboard player of the band has also responded on YouTube providing more details on the instruments in the song.
On December 8th, 2024, the song was fully solved when a member of the band found a YouTube video from 2012 of the band performing live[6] at the Natural Fudge Cafe on February 14th, 1990. The band would post a full lyrics video on December 13th.
Lyrics
Stop torturer, running flesh
Take me back to the place we met
I wanna see the way she cried
I don't wanna see the way she died
Stop the world if it kills us all
Stop the world and i'll catch your fall
Tell me when you're gonna leave
Tell me so I'm glad I'm free
I don't want to live in your world
Your little lies and your plastic pearls
You don't believe me when I speak to you
Always run and you don't listen to truth
There is more to our lives than pleasures and gains
You just look past the lies of the nevers and pains
I don't want to live in your world
Your little lies and your plastic pearls
The clock, it’s numbers, running slow
Stop me in the times you know
My name is not of what it seems
It's just the source of our redeems
Stop the world if it kills us all
Stop the world and i'll catch your fall
Tell me when you're gonna leave
Tell me so I'm glad I'm free
All the things I said to you
And all the words and the lies were true
I don't want to live in your world
Your little lies and your confusing swirls
Let me be that at the end of today
I can sit down, sip tea, and change these ways
I don't want to live in your world
Your bloody lies and your ashtray of pearls
The clock, it’s numbers, running slow
Stop me in the times you know
