Lyrics [Extended version][]
[Intro]
[Get down, you son-of-a-bitch!]
[Verse 1]
You were not the one to listen
No one told you what to do
The games we played kept you contented, secrets that I kept from you
[Chorus]
Where does your heart beat? Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat? Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat, heart beat now?
[Verse 2]
What was in your mind, I wondered, as I bid our last farewell
Will you be there waiting for me? Only time is going to tell
[I know who you are, you murderer! I know who you are! Help! Help! Somebody is lying here! Help! Quick! A doctor! Quick!]
[Chorus]
Where does your heart beat? Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat? Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat, heart beat now?
[Help! Help! Help! My God, stop him! Help! Stop him! Das ist die Weiss Engel!]
[Verse 3]
Was it my naïve intention
to condescend and take the blame?
The only things that gave you pleasure
were only things that brought me shame
[Chorus]
Where does your heart beat? Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat? Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat, heart beat now?
[Chorus]
Where does your heart beat? Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat? Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat?
Where does your heart beat, heart beat now?
Hohokam[]
Hohokam was a Synthpop and new wave band from the UK, active from the early to the late 80s.
The band's primary members were: Dave Earl (real name Dave Scrace) (guitar), Steve Devier (real name Steve Murtaugh) (vocals), Tony Alum (real name Tony Edwards) (drums, keyboards), and George Kamm (real name George Grimes) (synthesizer, bass)
They signed to Gary Numan label Numa Records in 1983 and started releasing music.
In 1984, the band put out the single King with two songs:
Both songs were produced by Gary. King was also a hit in the UK and a bit in the US, receiving constant airplay in Los Angeles radio stations.
In 1985, the band released their second single Harlequin Tears (this song) to big success. The single was followed by a second song:
- Harlequin Tears
- To Sleep
Harlequin Tears received constant airplay on British and American radio stations, and its music video was played on MTV.
In 1986, the band released their final single Don't You Know, which was less successful compared to the previous releases, with two songs:
In 1986, the band put out the album Seven Deadly Sins, featuring songs from the previous singles, and new songs. By 1987, the band left the label.
The band broke up in the early 90s but its members kept working with music behind the scenes, writing and composing.
Unfortunately two band members passed away in the previous years. Bassist George Kamm passed away in 2003 and lead singer Steve Devier passed away in 2022.
