On March 18th, 2022, YouTube user Somebody Different would upload a video to his channel containing the unidentified song.
On May 16th, 2022, YouTuber user Somebody Different would reupload the full recording, saying in the video's description: "recording of partially erased Tape (pictured in the video) The tape was near a magnet at some point, causing dropouts. Here is released the unedited audio, although unlistenable, uploading in a hope that at some point someone would be able to the best job at restoring the inaudible parts".
On August 21st, 2022, YouTube user Antonio's Remastered Works would upload a remastered version of the song to his channel for a 500-sub special. Later, Somebody different would then provide a link the remastered song in the full recording's description.
On September 28th, 2022, Discord user PyschoCop would identify the song as Hanging From The Christmas Tree by Favours For Sailors, released in 2009.
