Fixation (formerly known by the same name or "Telepathically") is a formerly unidentified slacker rock/garage punk song by Scottish band Transfer Audio, recorded in 2008 for a scrapped EP and re-released in 2026 on the EP Undress The Night.

2023-2024[]
The song was posted to WatZatSong on June 12th, 2023, by user willman85. The post's description read:
“British indie rock, ‘00s. Possibly downloaded from P2P filesharing, or otherwise downloaded from MySpace”.
A day later, the OP posted the full song to Internet Archive[1]. In the comment, they said the original filename was “Fixation.mp3”.[2]
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as Lost Music, MistaEgg, Twenty6, Q, Zumi, No Background, S3V3R3DH3AD, jordy2x, LostwaveFinder, LostwaveTT, Murphy, S2h, AlianTheObscure, Pikazen, Rocketballboi and multiple others, amassing over 15k views.
Sometime before January 27th, 2024, the link to the longer snippet went defunct, but it was archived by the reuploads.[3]
On May 24th, 2024, a channel for the song was created in the FMM Discord server after winning a channel poll, along with Damn Munich, Damenwahl, Hey I'm Out, I Felt So Silly, I Know, One More Time, Shadows, and Waiting For The Countdown.
2025-2026[]
On October 1st, 2025, a FMM user brought up the possibility of the song being a hoax, due to the spectrogram being similar to Out Of Time, another hoax that was posted to WZS a day prior to this song. They said:
“i just don’t see how this could be a coincidence. i really would like to believe him, but how? several different people have looked at it and all point to the same very specific encoding issue. i understand he says he didn’t know, but at this point what else are we supposed to think? spectral mirrors are very uncommon & usually only appear if someone re-encodes a lossy file in a spectral-domain tool. on top of this, there is additional coincidence as both have the exact same signature, which is a broad band-stop in the midhighs (at 11 khz) with mirrored content above. the cutoff differs slightly (fixation has faint junk past 16 kHz, hq out of time has a clean 15.8 kHz ceiling). these were posted within 1 day of each other. the former was proven to be a hoax previously. my wording may be wrong but you can look at the spectrogram and see the similarities for yourself. someone more knowledgeable can correct if anything i’ve said is inaccurate.
so all of this combined. it would be a very extreme coincidence? i dont even know how to imagine the chances of that… very rare?”
The OP responded to these claims, denying being a hoaxer, he said:
"I do not know the person responsible for Out Of Time, nor are we the same person. Nor do I have any idea about spectral mirrors. If the file was re-encoded or processed then I guess that must have been by the band themselves?? And yes, it is just a coincidence the aforementioned song was posted a day before mine."[4]
On January 3rd, 2026, the OP joined the FMM Server, bringing up the possibility of the song being by the band Transfer Audio, who also went by Porcelina and evoL, saying:
"So basically I started playing with data recovery software and discovered it to be a powerful tool.
I ran that old hard drive through it, looking for clues as well as for other reasons.
I wasn't able to recover anything useful but in the process did at least get some names of files I didn't recognize/remember (we're talking like seventeen or so years ago here).
Among these was an mp3 called "Something 4 Nothing", which after a google video search leads to a band called Transfer Audio."[5]
On the same day, user TSG commented on a YouTube video posted by user and band member Radiofred of a song by Transfer Audio, asking if the song was by the band. Fred confirmed the song was by them, he had a copy of it on his old laptop, it was made under Porcelina, though they still played it live under the Transfer Audio name[6], and it was titled Fixation.[7]
Later that day, the song was fully identified as Fixation by Transfer Audio after Discord user Alan contacted Last.fm user ssechaud, who wrote a biography for Transfer Audio[8][citation needed], and they provided audio of the song being performed live. Fred provided an alternate version of it around an hour later.
Two days later, Fred commented on LostwaveFinder's solved upload. He said that the version he posted was the first version the band recorded in 2006 or 2007 and the version willman posted was a re-recording meant for a scrapped EP. He also said the band might've posted the song to their now-deleted MySpace, but he didn’t remember.[9]
On January 15th, 2026, the band created a Bandcamp page and released the EP Undress The Night, which included high quality audio of the version of the song willman posted and another version of this song.
Debunked leads[]
Fair Verona[]
Prior to that song's solve, multiple users brought up the possibility of the song being by the same artist as Downfall[10], due to the similar origins, vocals, and styles. After it was identified as being by Fair Verona[11], they were ruled out.[12]
Presumed lyrics[]
[Verse 1]
'Cause you're the only one that I've ever seen
Come onto me, telepathically
Come on over here and do your little fantasy
Come home with me, telepathically
So come home with me, telepathically
I'm a bumbling insecurity
[Chorus]
Will it go, will it go, will it go, will it go
Under the sea, that's a common theme
Will it go, will it go, will it go, will it go
Under the sea, between you and me?
[Verse 2]
'Cause you're the only one who brings me sanity
I'm a bumbling insecurity
Come on over here and do your little fantasy
Come onto me, telepathically
[Bridge]
You caught a listen down at the kitchen walls
So was she leaving at all? So was she leaving?
You caught a listen down at the living room walls
So was she leaving at all? So was she leaving?
You caught a listen down at the living room wall
Was she leaving at all? Was she leaving?
'Cause there's a friction, down in your kitchen
[Verse 3]
'Cause you're the only one who brings me sanity
A mumbling insecurity
Come on over here do your little fantasy
So come home with me, telepathically
So come home with me, telepathically
A mumbling insecurity
[Chorus]
Will it go, will it go, will it go, will it go
Under the sea, that's a common theme
Will it go, will it go, will it go, will it go
Under the sea, between you and me?
[Verse 4]
'Cause you're the only one who brings me sanity
Go home with them, insecurity
Come on over here and do your little fantasy
Come with me, telepathically
Porcelina[]
Transfer Audio (initially Porcelina, later evoL) were an electro-rock, indie rock, post-punk revival, and noise pop band from Glasgow, Scotland.
The band went through a variety of line-ups, with the one for the scrapped EP featuring Fixation consisted of Leona (vocals), Michael Williams (bass), Fred (lead guitar), Jon (rhythm guitar), and Jamie Webster (drums).
In an unknown year, they released their first EP, self-titled Porcelina[13], with four songs.
- Off Shore
- Inatamal Pleasure
- Taking You
- Looking For Business
In August of 2007, they went by Transfer Audio.
They were planning on an EP around January of 2009, but it doesn't seem like it released.
They have at least four songs mentioned online, including a version this one.
- Fixation
- Ferocious
- Something 4 Nothing
- Peril
Around 2010, they went by evoL after the guitarist and bassist left.
They apparently had an EP planned for Summer of 2010, but there isn't any other information.[14]
They don't seem to be active today, but their songs are still being reuploaded on YouTube.
