Not to be confused with The Downfall Of A Well Known Actress by Fair Verona as both songs have been known as "Downfall".
Falling Down or Downfall (formerly known as as "I Keep on Running") is a formerly unidentified arena rock song that was originally released in 2009, by the band "Chasing Lights" but it was re-released in 2015 as just by Matthias Wolf and was titled "Downfall".
Search History[]
On July 15th, 2017, Deniza Mahmut visited a Kaufland store in Romania. She then heard a catchy song she liked on the in-store music player but was only able to get a low quality 20 second snippet. She did not want to hold her father, who was in a hurry, back. She remembers the full version being between 3-5 minutes.
On September 13th, 2020, she posted the song onto YouTube, and also to the Reddit server, r/tipofmytounge. It was on TOMT where she met UsrDeletedFromPlanet, who got her song a channel in The Lost Search Discord server.
On February 6th, 2023, WatZatSong user by the name of "NC201" uploaded another sample of the song onto the website, claiming that they heard the song in a furniture store in Germany the same day they posted it.
On February 24th, 2024, the song was identified by Discord users Marcos and Jay as Falling Down, composed by Matthias Wolf after listening to Radio POS Kaufland waiting for it to play. It eventually played and user EvanC015 found it in a compilation album.
On March 2nd, 2024, the song was found out to first owned by the band named "Chasing Lights" and was originally named "Downfall", but the song was re-released by the composer, Matthias Wolf and named it "Falling Down".
Debunked Leads[]
Not too long after the song was posted onto YouTube, a commenter had located a Discogs post for a lost Swedish MySpace punk band called Sixteen Hundred. They have a song titled "Keep On Running" on their 2005 EP, Keep on Running. This was the main lead for a while.
On November 15th, 2020, a member of Sixteen Hundred named Jonas Hietala denied their song, "Keep On Running" was the song that people have been looking for. The EP is actually lost although lyrics to the song have been found
Lyrics[]
[Verse 1]
They say you die alone
And I know it's true
Since I died a thousand times over the last few days
Now I search the silence
For a place to reanimate, scattered charge
I'm looking for a sign that helps me ease my troubled mind
[Chorus]
I keep on running, running, running
'Til my heart stops beating anymore
I keep on running, running, running
'Til my eyes start bleeding
I can't see no more
Lying naked on the floor
[Verse 2]
I lost my heart somewhere at the river
Wondering if it sticks together
If I find thе right way to wander
I lost my heart along the rivеr
Wonder if it's leaving slivers
I should try and pick it up some day
[Chorus]
I keep on running, running, running
'Til my heart stops beating anymore
I keep on running, running, running
'Til my eyes start bleeding
I can't see no more
Lying naked on the floor
[Outro]
I keep on running, running, running
'Til my heart stops beating anymore
I keep on running, running, running
'Til my eyes start bleeding anymore
'Til my heart stops beating
I keep on running, running, running
'Til my eyes start bleeding anymore
I keep on running, running, running
'Til my heart stops beating anymore
I keep on running, running, running
'Til my eyes start bleeding
I can't run no more
Lying naked on the floor
