On February 27th, 2024, user wurlitzer18 posted the song to WatZatSong, claiming they found it from a blog post “a while back”. They didn’t provide any additional information about the song.
Around March of 2024, wurlitzer18 changed the sample to an earlier part of the song. They still didn’t provide any additional information, and they didn’t respond to any comments.
On March 22nd, 2024, user kushikyuba posted a stitched together version of the snippets was posted to Vocaroo[1]. The OP claimed that "copyright issues" prevented them from posting a longer snippet.[2]
Over time, the song was reuploaded to YouTube by several users, such as Jcorsen, Creamwolf, No Background, Ofrix, JayKay, Aero, AlianTheObscure, Q, S2h, LostwaveTT, 𝑀𝑟. 𝐶ℎ𝑖𝑝𝑠, and multiple others, amassing over 55k views.
Theories
Factory For Love may be a hoax due to the following reasons:
- The original poster, wurlitzer18, did not mention from what blog they got it from.
- The OP, previously, reposted another already-solved lostwave song. The snippet they shared matched exactly with the solved track, which rules out coincidence. Additionally, it seemed to be a screen recording, as evidenced by the silence at the start.[3]
- There's also silence at the start of this song, meaning it's possibly a screen recording too.
- The OP provided minimal information about the song and then abruptly disappeared, seemingly after people began accusing them of orchestrating a hoax.
- Instead of uploading the full audio of the track, the OP altered the sample on WatZatSong, which adds to the suspicion.
While there is no concrete evidence to confirm it is a hoax, the behavior of the OP is highly suspicious.
