FEX is a German rock band formed in Kiel in 1983. They gained widespread recognition for their song Subways Of Your Mind, which was once dubbed "The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet". Following its rediscovery, more FEX songs have been unveiled. The reveal of "Subways of Your Mind" brought along two songs from its demo tape, "Heart in Danger" and "Talking Hands", with FEX later revealing B-side "Goldrush" in their YouTube channel. The song "Jenny" was found in a compilation album released by Zeus - which ironically YouTube uploader MoreGermanGrooves revealed to have purchased years prior hoping to find leads on "The Mysterious Song", only to not notice the similarly sounding singer at the time.

The band is composed of vocalist and guitar player Ture Rückwardt, keyboardist Michael Hädrich, drummer Hans Sievers, and bassist Norbert Ziermann. The lead was discovered on November 4th, 2024 by Reddit user Marjin1412. Interviews revealed Rückwardt's wife Ilona was their first singer (having also done vocals for their preceding band Modulators), and the band's first bassist Jörg Lemcke has joined Reddit to tell stories of the band.

On November 7, 2024, Rückwardt, Hädrich, and Ziermann reunited for a live acoustic performance of "Subways Of Your Mind" on the German radio station NDR 1 Welle Nord. Fex has announced plans to re-record the song, while noting they have yet to find the studio version that was the one that gained fame as lostwave.
