English Garden (also known as In My Garden) is a nearly identified funk/pop rock song. It’s likely Lion And The Monkey - English Garden, but there’s no confirmation.
Search History[]
On April 8th, 2023, WatZatSong user Sailorfreak uploaded a snippet to the site, saying in the post's description: "80s song from 1987 or before". In the comments Sailorfreak provided a longer sample via Vocaroo link. Later that day in the comments, WatZatSong user Nonoseacrest correctly guessed that title has something to do with gardens.
On April 14th, 2023, user Fatbird discovered a post on the New Wave Outpost forums from January 5th, 2008 by user Bleek that mentioned multiple songs and bands that played on Washington based radio station KJET. One of the songs mentioned in the post was a song named English Garden by a band called Lion And The Monkey. No information about the song or the band existed.
On May 28th, 2023, WatZatSong user BlooDude2005 would find where Sailorfreak got the song after finding old KJET Mikey Sutton tapes on MixCloud, the tape itself was uploaded by Bleek, the same person who posted the NWO forum post. Bloost would try to contact Bleek, but to no response. In the broadcast, the artist and title weren’t announced. As of 2025, there have been no updates about the search.
Lyrics[]
(Warning, warning, warning, warning)
In my garden
In my garden
In my garden
In your garden
Walking through the streets of Rajasthan
I saw a woman sitting in the sun
She asked me why I came and where I’m from
She said “could you tell me which side I’m on?”
Said “could you tell me which side I’m on?”
Take a walk
In my my my garden
Turn around
Talk a walk
In your English Garden
Turn around
Go right back where-
We all remember lining up to try
A little piece of third world pie
(???) in the sky
And finding out that everyone must die
Just finding out that everyone must die, oh
Take a walk
In my my my garden
Turn around
Take a walk
In your English Garden
Turn around
Go right back where you got it from
(what has [be got] it)
(will take there [and] (???)
(???)
(???) warning, warning)
(???)
Walking through the streets of Africa
I saw a young man carrying a gun
He asked me why I came and where I’m from
He said “look out brother, something’s going wrong”
He said “look out brother, something’s going wrong”
He said
Take a walk
In my my my garden
Turn around
Take a walk
In your English garden
Turn around
Go right back where you got it from
Go right back where you got it from
Go right back (right back) where you got it from
Go right back where you got it
Right back to where you got it from
In my garden x13
In my garden, yeah
In my garden
(stop!)
