Search History[]
The song was first posted onto WatZatSong on May 28th, 2010, by user philabramoff. They stated that the song was recorded off of an alternative rock radio station in the late 1980s.
On August 11th, 2024, the OP came back and posted the full version of the song to Vocaroo. It was most likely recorded off of WDBM as that’s where the OP recorded their other songs.
On March 25th, 2025, another Discord user egg moment said that the song could be by The Lime Giants, as the OP posted another song, "Johnny Quest," by the same band and they sounded similar. Another Discord user, OrangeOzarka, discovered that they had a song named "Down In The Boneyard" but no audio of the song existed online.
After Lime Giants member Mark Nowlin was contacted on May 13th, 2025, by Discord user Skab, he confirmed that "Down In The Boneyard" was in fact by the Lime Giants. The song never had a studio recording, but it was fairly popular in the local East Lansing music scene, and it was alternatively called "Down In Livonia" as a joke by the band.
Lyrics[]
Down at the boneyard
Down in the boneyard
Down at the boneyard, I feel so alive
I know I could live here for a million more years
I'll die like a friend and they don't [quit] no job
They're all quite aware of the reasons we're here
Down in the boneyard
Down in the boneyard
I love walking alone at night
Listening to nothing
Nothing but the sound of my
Heart beating forever
Down in the boneyard, I met this girl
Long dark hair and a smile so fine
We fell in love then she broke my heart
I know [we'd met] 'cause I got nothing but time
Down in the boneyard
Down in the boneyard
I sit and watch the cars go by
I see the faces looking in
I wonder how long before
Those faces are moving in
Don't get me wrong, I still think about
My life and how it used to be
I only hope that when your time comes, girl
That you'll be me mine eternally
Down in the boneyard
Down in the boneyard
Down in the boneyard
Down in the boneyard
Down in the boneyard
Down in the boneyard
Down in the boneyard
Down in the boneyard
